White Entitlement, huh?

Watch this video of Father Pfleger ranting about politics...then read my response below.

Let's examine this more closely shall we? First of all, I think it is very strange to hear this from the pulpit. Since when has politics been the subject of a Sunday morning church sermon? Normally it's based on some Scripture passage and helps us be more like Christ. The first odd thing.

Second, white entitlement? Really? Is there a place I can go to get this entitlement, the Department of White Entitlement or do I get a tax rebate? Come off of it, I thought that we were beyond the race issue in this campaign. Granted about fifty years ago, whites thought that they were entitled to certain things but I thought that segregation was done away with.

Third, are people standing up because they are filled with the Holy Spirit? I think they just agree with what Father Pfleger is saying. Hmmmm.....I thought church was supposed to be a house of God not of politics.

Fourth, swearing in church. Somehow I thought that God would shoot bolts of lightning down at him. Just kidding, but still I'm pretty sure I've never heard a pastor use that kind of language before.

Fifth, "a whole lot of people crying." Were you crying when Hilary Clinton cried? I wasn't and I don't know anyone who was. If you were crying, post a comment and let me know.

You may ask why I'm mentioning this. Well, Barack Obama has been attending this church for almost twenty years and been good friends with Rev. Jeremiah Wright (who was the most recent former pastor of Trinity Unity Church of Christ). Although these comments aren't as controversial as Reverend Wright's, Father Pfleger has been invited many times to speak at this church. All this just reflects badly on Obama. I'm not for any candidate because all have undesirable qualities, but the more I find out about the company Obama keeps the more I don't want to vote for him.

Feel free to comment and discuss, thanks!
