I was listening to talk radio the other day like I always do, on 96.9 WTKK in Boston. Although they talked mainly about Father Pfleger, one host made mention of the new health care policies of the commonwealth. I just wanted to make you aware of what our great state of Massachusetts is doing with our tax dollars.
As many of you know, a few months ago there was a bill put before Congress to allow a certain level of amnesty to illegal immigrants. This became a hot topic in many forums, and I will not go into all of the details now. However, President George W. Bush had a press conference confirming that he did not see the bill as "giving amnesty to illegal immigrants." Yet had the President fully read through the bill (which was supported, and I believe written by John McCain), he would know that it did indeed give a level of amnesty to illegal immigrants.
Anyways, now in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you must file a Health Care form with your state income tax return declaring that you have health insurance. It was a rollover of legislation passed under the Romney administration to make sure that affordable health insurance was available for all. Well another product of this form is that most illegal immigrants do not have health insurance and cannot file this form. This allows law officials to track down the crimaliens more efficiently.
Now that Massachusetts has the means to round up these crimaliens, what are they going to do with them? I will give you three choices and you pick out the best answer...
1) Take all of the illegal immigrants and deport them to their country of origin. Much like Rhode Island and New Hampshire have already started doing.
2) Welcome the crimaliens with open arms, assimilate them into our culture better by giving them free/low cost health care at the taxpayers expense.
3) Systematically execute them French Revolution style.
I hope that you didn't choose number three. Though I would venture a guess that most of you chose number one. WRONG!! The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is giving these persons who have flagrantly broken the laws of this land FREE health care at YOUR expense. I could hardly believe this when I first heard this. Now I am not against immigration as long as the proper channels are being pursued. If I wanted to immigrate to the UK, then I would expect to go through a lengthy process of citizenship. I wouldn't illegally enter the UK, break their laws in the process, AND expect to get something in return! That would be insane, institutionally and psychologically INSANE!
If you disagree with my portrayal of this issue, wish to discuss this matter further, or agree wholeheartedly, please comment at the end of this post and keep coming back for more.
Watch this video of Father Pfleger ranting about politics...then read my response below.
Let's examine this more closely shall we? First of all, I think it is very strange to hear this from the pulpit. Since when has politics been the subject of a Sunday morning church sermon? Normally it's based on some Scripture passage and helps us be more like Christ. The first odd thing.
Second, white entitlement? Really? Is there a place I can go to get this entitlement, the Department of White Entitlement or do I get a tax rebate? Come off of it, I thought that we were beyond the race issue in this campaign. Granted about fifty years ago, whites thought that they were entitled to certain things but I thought that segregation was done away with.
Third, are people standing up because they are filled with the Holy Spirit? I think they just agree with what Father Pfleger is saying. Hmmmm.....I thought church was supposed to be a house of God not of politics.
Fourth, swearing in church. Somehow I thought that God would shoot bolts of lightning down at him. Just kidding, but still I'm pretty sure I've never heard a pastor use that kind of language before.
Fifth, "a whole lot of people crying." Were you crying when Hilary Clinton cried? I wasn't and I don't know anyone who was. If you were crying, post a comment and let me know.
You may ask why I'm mentioning this. Well, Barack Obama has been attending this church for almost twenty years and been good friends with Rev. Jeremiah Wright (who was the most recent former pastor of Trinity Unity Church of Christ). Although these comments aren't as controversial as Reverend Wright's, Father Pfleger has been invited many times to speak at this church. All this just reflects badly on Obama. I'm not for any candidate because all have undesirable qualities, but the more I find out about the company Obama keeps the more I don't want to vote for him.
Feel free to comment and discuss, thanks!
